Description of the ornament: On a red background, the main motif is placed in a checkerboard pattern – an eight-petal rosette. A series of connected large and small rhombuses. In the central part of a large rhombus there is a double four-petal rosette-flower. Green leaf elements complement the ornament.

Historic victory: Merezh and Chuhuyiv in the Kharkiv region were captured by the Cossacks during an uprising in Slobozhanshchyna against Muscovy, started by the Dzikovsky regiment in 1670
